Veremeyki ( Belor. Verameyki ) is an agro-town in the Cherikovsky district of the Mogilyov region of Belarus , the center of the Veremey village council . Veremeyki are located 26 kilometers north of Cherikov and 76 kilometers east of Mogilev . In the agrotown there is a railway station Mogilyov - Krichev .

History
According to written sources, the settlement is known in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania since 1576, as the village of Veremeevichi in the Propoi Volost of the Rechytsa Povet , which was state property. In 1737 there was a church here. After the 1st partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1772), the village became part of the Russian Empire , in 1777 it was part of the Cherikov district of the Mogilev province . In 1811, there were 39 courtyards and 94 inhabitants. In 1846, the village Veremeyenko was part of the estate Rekta, was the property of the landowner. In 1858, the village was part of the estate Petrushino. In 1880 there were 30 courtyards and 183 inhabitants, part of the villagers engaged in cooper trade. In 1897, in the Belitsky volost of Cherikovsky district, there are 39 courtyards and 303 inhabitants. There was a wooden church (opened no later than 1880), as well as a parochial school. In 1909 there were 59 courtyards and 225 inhabitants [1] .
After the revolution of 1917, a 1st-level working school was established on the basis of the old school, and the reading room was open. From August 20, 1924, the village belonged to the Cherikovsky district of the Kalininsky district . In 1926 there were 71 courtyards and 343 inhabitants. From June 9, 1927 a village in the Mogilev district (until July 26, 1930), at that time a railway station began to operate here. Since 1931, in the Chausy district . At this time, the collective farm "Red Star" was organized in Veremeykah. The Shock MTS, which served 5 village councils (reorganized on March 31, 1958), began operating, a pharmacy and nursery were opened, and the 4-year-old school was transformed into a 7-year-old, for which a new building was built. In 1940 there were 115 yards and 415 inhabitants [1] .
In the Great Patriotic War Veremeika since July 1941 were occupied by German troops. In August 1941, the head of the village council Fedoseenko, the secretary of the party organization organization of the village council Kornyushchenko and the chairman of the Krasnaya Zvezda collective farm Guznyakova were shot by the Germans. During the occupation, an underground partisan group (leader Kovalev) operated in the village. In 1941, underground workers blew up a pumping station, carried out a number of sabotage on the railway, and burned down an enemy warehouse. In May 1943, a separate partisan regiment "Thirteen" defeated the Nazi garrison, which was located in the village. In September 1943, the Germans burned 96 yards. Veremeiki were liberated on October 5, 1943 by the soldiers of the 385th Krichev rifle division of the 50th army of the Bryansk Front . In a mass grave near the railway building, 96 Soviet soldiers and partisans were buried, who died in 1941-43. 190 villagers fought on the fronts and in partisan detachments, of which 57 died [1] .
From September 16, 1959, Veremeyki in the Krichevsky district , from December 25, 1962 in Chaussky, from January 6, 1965 again in the Krichevsky district, and from July 30, 1966 in the Cherikovsky district. In 1953 a radio center was built here, in 1964 the village was electrified. In 1968, the village Pohodovichi was annexed to Veremeyka. In 1989, Veramayki had 460 yards and 1042 inhabitants, a cattle farm, a machine yard, a power-saw bench, feed processing and vitamin-flour preparation plants, a hospital, a kindergarten nursery, a secondary school, a liaison office, an automatic telephone station, the House of Culture with a stationary film installation, music school, library, pharmacy, bank, canteen, integrated reception center for consumer services, 3 stores, veterinary clinic. Since 2006, Veremeyki is an agro-town. In 2007, the Church of the Intercession was built here, a music school, ambulatory, forestry operated [1] [2] .
In his youth in Veremeykah, the future three - time biathlon world champion Oleg Ryzhenkov trained. Every year in the agro-town competitions are held in cross-country skiing for its prizes [3] .
