Biography

Born in a military family. In April 1786, at the age of 16, he entered military service in the French Guard regiment, where his father served. He participated in the assault on the Bastille on July 14, 1789, and at the end of the year joined the units of the National Guard. From March 1791 to March 1792 he served in the 10th dragoon regiment, then in the 6th cavalry regiment. He fought in Belgium under the command of General Dumourier . In August 1793 he moved to the 19th Horse-Ranger Regiment.

On December 24, 1794, he became adjutant to General Lefebvre in the Sambro-Maas army. General Lefebvre, who appreciates the fearlessness of Lieutenant Laborde, described him as "a good officer in the light forces." In 1797, he was adjutant to General Patel in the Army of England.

From April 5, 1800, he served as adjutant to General Berthier . He distinguished himself in the battle of Marengo, and right on the battlefield he was promoted to squadron commander, and also awarded Napoleon an honorary weapon.

On October 13, 1800, he became adjutant to General Junot . February 6, 1805 promoted to colonel. From February to November 1805 he accompanied Junot to Lisbon, where the general was ambassador. At the end of November, he joined the Great Army , and participated in the battle of Austerlitz.

December 27, 1805 he was appointed commander of the 8th Hussar Regiment. He participated in the Prussian campaign of 1806 and the Polish campaign of 1807. He was wounded at Jena, fought at Preisch-Eylau and Friedland. He returned to France in August 1807 after the Tilsit Peace for healing.

In the Austrian campaign of 1809, he acted as part of the light cavalry division of General Lazal . He fought at Regensburg, Essling and Enzendorf. On July 6, 1809, at Wagram, he was mortally wounded by a bullet during an attack in which General Lazal was also killed.
