The Savarkar Vinayak Damodar International Airport ( IATA : IXZ , ICAO : VOPB ) is the main airport of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, located 2 kilometers south of the city of Port Blair . The airport is named after the Indian freedom fighter Vinayaka Damodar Savarkar . The airport also operates the Indian Navy .

Terminal
The airport has only one terminal with 2 exits without telescopic ramps . Buses are used to provide transportation of passengers from the terminal to the aircraft. The new terminal building is under construction and is scheduled for commissioning in March 2018 . [one]
