Biography
From a noble family. In 1781 he entered the artillery school in Metz , in 1783 he was released as a lieutenant in the La Ferret artillery regiment, where Napoleon Bonaparte began his service around the same years. In 1791, Perneti - the captain, supported the revolution, and began to quickly advance in service. In the Italian campaign of General Bonaparte in 1796 he participated as an artillery officer. He fought at Bassano, at Arkola and at Rivoli , where a horse was killed under him, and where he was promoted to battalion commander for bravery right on the battlefield.
In 1798, Perneti served on the coast of Normandy in Brest , in the troops intended for the expedition to Ireland. The expedition ended unsuccessfully for the French, Ireland remained under British control, and Perneti was captured, and returned to France three months later.
During the passage of Bonaparte through the Alps, Perneti led his cannons through the St. Bernard pass and participated in the battle of Marengo , promoted to colonel. After the proclamation of the Empire, Pernetti became a Chevalier and then an officer of the newly established Order of the Legion of Honor , Brigadier General . In 1805-1806, the guns of General Perneti fired at Ulm , Austerlitz and Jena . Then he participated in the siege of Prussian fortresses, including Breslau . Produced as division generals, Perneti became one of the few artillery battalionists. In 1810, Perneti was commissioned to demarcate the border between Austria and Bavaria, for which he received the Grand Cross of the same order of Maximilian Joseph. Then Perneti leaves for Hamburg to head the artillery of this strong fortress, and from there to the army preparing for the campaign to Russia, he takes part in the campaign as one of the leaders of the artillery. In 1813-1814, he took part in many key battles, becoming the holder of the Grand Cross of the Order of Reunion .
Perneti’s career continues with the returning Bourbons - he becomes Viscount (1817), Knight of the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor (1821), holds important posts. After the revolution of 1830 , Perneti in 1835 became a peer of France (a lifetime member of the Upper House of Parliament) and in 1854 - a senator of the Second Empire .

- Pernetti street in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and the Perneti metro station are named after the general.
- The name Perneti is written on the south side of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
