Biography
Born December 20, 1905 in the city of Voznesensk , now in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine . Russian [3] .
Military Service
October 1, 1926 voluntarily entered the Odessa Artillery School [4] . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1929 [3] . After graduating from school in April 1930, he was appointed platoon commander in the 5th corps artillery regiment of the BVI in the city of Bobruisk . From April to September 1932, he studied at artillery courses at the United Military School in Moscow, and on returning to the regiment he served in it as an assistant commander and battery commander [4] .
From February 1936, Senior Lieutenant Rogozin was appointed Chief of Staff of the 55th Corps Heavy Artillery Regiment Division, from December - Commander of the 4th Artillery Regiment of the 4th Cavalry Division [4] .
From August 1938, Assistant Head of the 9th Division of the Artillery Directorate of the Red Army , from October - Assistant Commander for the combat formation of the 90th Artillery Regiment of the 90th Infantry Division of the Military District [4] .
In May 1939, Captain Rogozin was appointed Chief of Staff of the 143rd Artillery Regiment of the Murmansk Task Force. From October 1939, the regiment held defenses in Tariberskaya Bay. During the Soviet-Finnish war, he was part of the 104th Infantry Division of the 14th Army and participated in the battles in the direction of Petsam . In December 1939, under Petsamo, Rogozin was wounded [4] .
From July 1940 - Chief of Staff of Artillery of the 50th Infantry Corps of the Baltic Military District, from June 6, 1941 - Chief of Artillery of the 28th UR of the 23rd Army [4] .
Great Patriotic War
At the beginning of World War II in the same position. Since July 1941, Major Rogozin took command of the 682th Light Artillery Regiment of the 235th Rifle Division of the 41st Rifle Corps of the Luga Operational Group of the Northern Front . In mid-July, the division, after a 100-kilometer withdrawal from the Baltic, withdrew into the region east of the town of Luga to re-equip and tidy up the materiel, after which it led heavy defensive battles east and north of the town. From August 25 to September 9, the regiment as part of the division led the fighting in the vicinity of the village of Vyritsa . After leaving the encirclement at the end of September, Major Rogozin was appointed chief of artillery of the 90th Infantry Division of the 55th Army of the Leningrad Front , at which time the division occupied the defensive line Pushkin, Slutsk . In January 1943, the division joined the 67th Army of the Leningrad Front and participated in Operation Iskra to break the blockade of Leningrad: it broke through the enemy defenses in the area south of Shlisselburg [4] .
On March 11, 1943, Rogozin assumed command of the 28th Artillery Breakthrough Division, which ensured the fighting of rifle formations of the 55th Army of the Leningrad Front during the fighting to seize enemy strongholds in the Sinyavino heights, Krasny Bor, Yam-Izhora [4] .
From August 8, 1943 until the end of the war, Colonel , and from March 29, 1944, Major General of Artillery Rogozin commanded the 23rd Artillery Division of the RGC breakthrough. In August, the division supported the combat operations of the formations and units of the 67th Army in the Mginsk sector [4] .
The 67th Army's artillery commander assessed the actions of the commander of the 23rd Artillery Division of the RGC: βSeriously assessing the firing force entrusted to him at the time of the operation, he could maneuver his fire in any direction, creating a powerful fire strike on the front edge of the enemy defense with the transfer of firing action in depth. Being directly in the combat formations of the infantry, he organized interaction with other branches of the armed forces. β
In January 1944, the division participated in the Leningrad-Novgorod offensive operation . Its units provided for the combat operations of the 30th Guards Rifle Corps of the 42nd Army during the breakthrough of enemy defenses in the area of Pulkovo . For the liberation of the cities of Krasnoye Selo and Pulkovo, the division was twice noted in the orders of the Supreme Commander. From August 1944, she as a member of the 8th Army of the Leningrad Front consistently participated in the Tallinn offensive and Moonzund landing operations, during which she provided combat operations to her enemyβs forces in the north of Tartu , liberating the city of Narva and seizing the island of Sarem (Ezel). Since October, its units conducted military operations as part of the 8th Artillery Corps of the 2nd Belarusian Front . From January to May 1945, the division participated in the Mlavsko-Elbing , East-Pomeranian and Berlin offensive operations [4] .
During the war, Rogozin was personally mentioned 13 times in thanksgiving orders of the Supreme Commander [5] .
Post-war time
After the war, Major General Artillery Rogozin continued to command a division in the GWB [4] .
In July 1946, he was appointed commander of the 5th Guards Artillery Personnel of the Stalingrad Red Banner Order of Suvorov, the division of the RGC in the KVO. In April 1950, for the weak leadership of the division, he was dismissed from the post and sent to the Higher Attestation Commission at the Artillery Academy. F.E. Dzerzhinsky [4] .
On October 6, 1950, he completed courses and in December was appointed deputy commander of the 7th Artillery Division of the RVK breakthrough [4] .
Since January 1953, the head of the Zhytomyr Artillery Training Camp [4] .
On September 10, 1953, Major General of Artillery Rogozin transferred to the reserve [4] .
