Biography
Born in 1918 in Mariupol. In 1935 he entered the Faculty of Philology of the Leningrad University. In the years 1938-39. was a translator in the international team in Spain [1] . In 1941 he graduated from the university. In the same year he joined the CPSU . At the beginning of World War II was the head of the department in the newspaper " Change ", in 1944-1945 - a military translator. After the war, he returned to work at the University of Leningrad. Read a course on the history of foreign literature.
He was a member of the International Association of Servants ( Spanish Asociación de Cervantistas ) and the Russian Association of Hispanists .
Author of more than 200 publications. The main works are devoted to the Spanish Renaissance drama, modern Latin American literature, Russian-Spanish literary connections.
In 1994 he emigrated to the United States. Died in New York in 2006.
