Biography
He graduated from the BSU (1936), the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks in 1948. In 1919-1924. He worked at a sawmill, a flax-spinning factory “Dvina” in Vitebsk . Since 1937, the chief editor of the State Publishing House of the BSSR, since 1939 - the editor of the newspaper " Zvyazda ". In 1941-1947 and 1950-1960. - Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPB. During World War II at political work in the Red Army, one of the organizers of the partisan movement in Belarus. In 1942-1945 T. S. Gorbunov - editor of the magazine "Slavs", in 1949-1950. - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the All-Union Society for the Promotion of Political and Scientific Knowledge, editor of the journal Science and Life. In 1960-67 - Academician-Secretary of Social Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.
Major works on history: “Liberated Western Belarus” (1940), “Heroic past of the Belarusian people” (1945), “Formation of the BSSR” (1949), and others. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1946-1962, Supreme Council of the BSSR in 1947 —1967 In the years 1955-1963. - Chairman of the Supreme Council of the BSSR.
