When Hui-wang attempted a palace coup. The uncle of the ruler, the son of Chuang-wang from the concubine, the favorite of his father Tui (Zi Tui), tried to seize the throne. Several prominent aristocrats, Dafu (according to “Guo yu” - three, according to “Tso-zhuan” - five), offended by the van, who allegedly took a garden from one of them, a palace from another, and 675 BC er rebelled. The rebels, however, were defeated and fled to Wei . But the kingdom of Wei, about thirty years ago speaking in the coalition of Wang against Zheng, this time was on the side of the rebels. With his help, Tui was enthroned, and the legal van fled to Zheng, where he spent two or three years, until the rulers of Zheng and Guo jointly overthrew and killed Tui, returning Hui-wang to the throne. It is curious that the rulers Guo and Zheng motivated their decision to stand up for the deposed Wang, in particular, by the fact that Tui had a lot of fun, rejoicing in other people's misfortunes.
Returning to the throne, Hui-wang sent his representative Shao-bo Liao to the kingdom of Qi to confirm the authority of Qian Huan-gong as a ba. For this, Van asked to punish the kingdom of Wei, shortly before supporting the rebel Tzu Tui. Huan-gun fulfilled this request in 666 BC. er .
Hui-wang spent a quarter of a century on the throne, but sources do not report anything significant about these years (except for the revolt of Zi Tui). He was succeeded by the son Xiang-wang.
