Career
Cavita Lorenz was born in 1995 in the German capital Berlin. She started in figure skating as a loner (took part in the German championship in 2011 ), but she soon switched to ice dancing, pairing with Ukrainian Kholonyuk. However, for a long time the couple did not exist and Cavita again began to search for a partner. At this time, the German soloist Politsoakis thought to change singles and go dancing on ice, and a new couple arose.
The couple debuted in September 2015 at the Nebelhorn tournament , where the skaters performed very well and took fourth place [2] . This was followed by the Nepel Memorial , where the dancers managed to take fifth place; at the same time, they qualified for continental and world championships [3] . At the end of November, the couple was preparing for the national championship and performed at the Warsaw Cup , where she finished in the middle of the standings. In December 2015, at the national championship in Essen, the skaters in a bitter struggle (after the short program they took second place) became the first. German dancers in Slovakia made their debut in the continental championship in January 2016 , where they finished in the middle of the second twenty. In March, their debut at the World Championships in Boston was held , where the skaters were able to qualify as finalists.
After that, the skaters decided not to perform together again. However, the long persuasion of the coaches and functionaries of the German Federation managed to convince the dancers to keep a couple. The season began again at the Nebelhorn tournament , where the athletes finished fifth [4] . At the end of September, the skaters performed very well at the Nepel Memorial , improved all their previous achievements and took fifth place [5] . Then they took second places in tournaments in Riga and Dortmund . In early December, the couple performed at the Zagreb Golden Horse tournament, where the skaters finished in fourth place and improved their previous achievements in total and free dance [6] . At the national championship in December, the pair confidently again became the first. At the end of January, German athletes performed in Ostrava at the European Championship , where they repeated last year's achievements, taking respectively the fourteenth place of the championship. In mid-February, a German couple performed in Obersdorf on the Bavarian Cup [7] , where they took third place. At the end of March, German skaters performed at the World Championships in Helsinki , where they performed not entirely unsuccessfully, failed to qualify for the next Olympic Games, but entered the free program [8] .
Olympic season
At the end of September, German skaters began the Olympic season, they took part at home in Obersdorf , where at the Nebelhorn qualification tournament , they finished in third place and managed to win a ticket to the Winter Olympic Games for their country [9] . At the end of November, athletes took part in a tournament in the capital of Estonia, where they finished in the middle of the top ten [11] . Soon followed by a performance on the Golden Skate of Zagreb , which was completely unsuccessful. The pair finished at the end of the tens. Two weeks later, at the national championship in Frankfurt, dancers confidently for the third time became champions of the country. A month later, German skaters went to Moscow for the European Championship , but here, due to health reasons, they withdrew from the competition at the last moment. In early February, before the opening of the Olympic Games in South Korea, the couple began to compete in the team tournament . The Germans in Gangneung finished at the end of the standings. In the future, the German team did not reach the final part. In mid-February, at a personal tournament of the Olympic Games, German dancers did not perform very well, they managed to finish only in the middle of the second ten.
