Biography
Mirza Ali Khan was born in 1843 in the city of Tehran in the family of Mirza Muhammed Khan. Received secondary and higher education in Tehran.
Meanwhile, opposition grew within the country's political elite. On November 24, 1896, opponents of the authoritarian rule of Amin os-Soltan , led by opposition leader Abdol Hossein-Mirza Farman Pharma , supported by the future Prime Minister, liberal Mirza Ali Khan Amin od-Doule, and the greedy "Taurida retinue" Mozaffar al-Din Shah, achieved the dismissal of the almighty Amin os-Soltan. Of course, the latter’s departure from the political scene was a great loss for Russian diplomacy, while for the British it was a fulfillment of a long-awaited dream. As a result, pro-English political figures were at two key posts: Farman Pharma was appointed to the post of Minister of War, and Mohber od-Doule, whom the English envoy Durend called "best friends in Persia" [1] .
Mozaffar ed-Din-Shah also appointed an Anglophile to the post of Prime Minister - Amin od-Doule. To remedy the worsening socio-economic situation in the country, the new prime minister set about carrying out a number of reforms, which did not immediately appeal to the former allies in the opposition - the palace clique, as well as some ulama.
Realizing that in the event of a social explosion, the authorities would not be able to count on the help of a completely disorganized regular army [2] , the Shah’s court placed all hope in the brigade. It is no coincidence that after the urging of the first minister, Amin od-Doule, in September 1897, Farman Pharma was dismissed [3] , Mozaffar al-Din-Shah took over the main “leadership of the military department of Persia” [4] .
Mirza Ali Khan Amin od-Dovla died in 1904 in Tehran .
