Ilka Štuhec ( Slovenian. Ilka Štuhec ; October 26, 1990 ) - Slovenian skier , two-time world champion in downhill skiing ( 2017 and 2019 ), multiple winner of the World Cup , participant in the 2014 and 2018 Olympic Games. Specializes in speed disciplines and combinations.

Career

In international starts under the auspices of FIS, Ilka Stuhec made her debut at the end of 2005 in Italy.

In 2007, at the Junior World Championships in Austria, Flachau won gold in slalom and in combination (which was not held as a separate race) and at the end of the 2006/07 season she made her world debut at the stage in the Swiss Lenzerheide , where she could not complete the first slalom attempt .

The following season, for the third time in her career, she became the world champion among juniors, having won downhill in Spanish Formigal . Several times took part in the starts of the World Cup, but mainly performed in the Continental European Cup, but on March 8, 2008 she took 22nd place in the downhill in Crans-Montana , having won the first World Cup points.

At the world championships she made her debut in 2013 in the Austrian Schladming . In her first race she closed the six strongest in the supergiant, losing less than a second to compatriot Tina Maze .

In 2014, she took part in the Sochi Olympics . Shtuhets started in four types of programs (except for slalom) and showed the best result (10th place) in downhill .

For the first time, she hit the podium of the World Cup in early December 2016 , winning the downhill at the stage in Canadian Lake Louise , and repeating this success a day later. Also, a double victory was won at the stage in the French Val d'Isere , winning the downhill and combination. In total for the 2016/17 season, Ilka won seven victories, rising 13 times to the prize podium. Slovenka took the second place in the overall standings after Michaela Shiffrin , won the downhill and combination tests and became the second in the standings of the super giant after Tina Wairater .

At the 2017 World Cup, Stukhets won gold in downhill , ahead of Austrian Stefanie Fenir and American Lindsay Vonn . At the next World Championships in 2019 in Auray, Stuchets again became the first in downhill .
