Clopton Havers ( born Clopton Havers ; February 24, 1657 , Stamborn , England - April 29, 1702 , Willingale , England ) is an English physician who initiated the study of bone microstructure.

Biography
Havers was born on February 24, 1657 in Istanbul . He studied first at the at the University of Cambridge, and then at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. He was a student of Richard Morton . Since 1686, a member of the Royal Society of Surgeons.
Died April 29, 1702 in Willingale .
Publications
In 1691, Havers published the work, “New Osteology or Some New Observations on Bone Growth and Nutrition,” in which he described the channels that now bear his name.
