The Treaty of Montpellier ( French: Traité de Montpellier ) is a treaty signed in Montpellier on October 18, 1622 between King Louis XIII of France and the Huguenot leader Henri de Rogan . The treaty followed an unsuccessful siege by the king of Montpellier and ended the hostilities between the French royalists and the Huguenots. In addition, he reaffirmed the principles of the Nantes Edict, allowing the Huguenots to retain their many forts and garrisons.
