Biography
The exact time of his birth is unknown. He came from an ancient family of princes Tsitsishvili , former owners of Kartalinia. His father - Prince Paata (Pavel Zakharyevich) Tsitsianov left Georgia for Russia in 1725 in the retinue of the Kartalin and Kakheti tsar Vakhtang VI , accepted Russian citizenship and was captain of the Georgian Hussar Regiment [1] .
E.P. Tsitsianov, he served in the Preobrazhensky Life Guards Regiment and was a scorer in 1765, and a corporal scorer in 1767. In 1772, Tsitsianov was promoted from regimental sergeant to ensign, and in 1778 from captain-lieutenant to lieutenant colonel with transfer to the army [2] .
Together with his nephew, Prince Pavel Dmitrievich Tsitsianov , he translated the following books: 1) βThe saving of human life, or the Reduction of Indian morality, composed by some ancient Brahmin and published through one glorious Peking bonza in Chinese, from which, firstly in English and then into French, now in the Russian language the Life Guards of the Preobrazhensky Regiment were transferred with the scorers of the princes: Yegor and Pavel Tsitsianov β; M., 1765; 2nd edition, M., 1769; 3rd edition, M., 1781; 4th edition, M., 1791; 2) βField engineer or officer, in case of need, building a field fortification. Translated from French with proper explanations and additions from Princes Yegor and Pavel Tsitsianov, Life Guards of the Preobrazhensky Regiment from the scorer-corporals, M., 1767 [2] .
