Krasnoborsky ironworks is a state-owned cheese-producing ironworks, founded in the 1640s near the modern city of Krasnovishersk, Perm Territory . The year of foundation and closure is unknown.

Geographical position

The plant was located on the right bank of the Vishera River in the Cherdynsky district of the Perm province , in the "Red Forest", in the literature it is referred to as Krasnoborsky [1] , 18 kilometers from the modern city of Krasnovishersk [2] .

Creation History

In the 1620s, iron ore was found in the upper Kama of the Cherdynsky Uyezd [3] and at the same time the first state-owned ironworks was founded in Prikamye [4] , and in 1640, according to the painting of the Cherdynsky Uyezd, the ironworks on Krasniy Bor was equipped with one housekeeper with two raw-metal horns [5] , so began the work of the Krasnoborsky ironworks. The plant was state owned, worked in swamp ore and produced critical iron . The enterprise consisted of several buildings: huts for workers, a house with two horns and a forge . The plant's performance is unknown. The remains of the plant were identified and examined by archaeologists of Perm State University [1] .
