After the capture of Tarnov by the Turks ( 1393 ), Konstantin was trained at the Bachkovo Monastery , possibly preparing to accept monastic tonsure. [1] However, around 1410, in connection with the acute political situation in Bulgaria, he moved to Serbia , where the despot Stefan instructed him to compile a grammar manual for the scribes (“The Legend has been announced about writings”), which has survived in two editions - a short one (printed in “Articles Relating to the Ancient Slavic Language” by V. I. Grigorovich, Kaz. 1852 ) and lengthy (excerpts from the book by Danichich in “Starine”, I).

In 1431 , that is, 4 years after the death of the despot Stefan, Konstantin, on behalf of the Serbian patriarch Nikon, wrote a wonderful life of Stefan Lazarevich, which includes a general outline of Serbian history.
