Biography
Not known to chronicles or genealogies; it is known only by local tradition and by life and legends about gaining relics. According to them, he was killed in a battle with the Tatars on Tugovaya Hill in 1255 or 1257 [1] .
Honoring the Russian Orthodox Church
He was canonized, like his brother Vasily , after gaining their relics in 1501 after a fire in the Assumption Cathedral of Yaroslavl , where they were buried. [2] The relics became the main relic of the cathedral along with the Yaroslavl icon of the Virgin , brought according to legend by the brothers [3] . In 1744, by negligence, they extinguished the candles that were stacked in a box, which stood near the tomb with the relics, they burned down along with the crayfish and a wooden canopy . Parts that survived from the relics were collected and stored in a new silver crab in the same place. [four]
They are revered by the Russian Church as holy noble princes, their memory is celebrated on July 3 on the day of the death of Constantine and on May 23 together with the Cathedral of the Rostov-Yaroslavl Saints.
