Still life with a dog and a parrot
Pupil of Jan Feith .
He painted living and dead animals, flowers and fruits. Having visited Germany and France , he settled in Rome , where, under the name Rammelora ( in Dutch "rabbit", which he often depicted in his paintings), he was accepted into the society of painters. Yielding in talent to his teacher, he enjoyed, however, great success.
His paintings (in the museums of Ghent , Amsterdam , Lille , Vienna , etc.) are distinguished by their confidence and freedom of brush, naturalness and power of color.
David de Coninck died in 1699.
