George Naz ( Urdu جارج ناز ) is a Pakistani Christian accused by the Pakistani authorities of “blasphemy” for publicly condemning the anti-Christian pogrom in the city of Jelam in March 2013 [1] [2] [3] .

Biography
George Naz was born on February 21, 1965. He worked as an official in the district administration, was the leader of the local Christian community. He openly opposed the persecution of Pakistani Christians, which began after the law on blasphemy adopted in the spring of 2013. During the protest, Naz posted a placard that said the law passed threatened Pakistani Christians. The action caused a wide public outcry, and on March 21, 2013, a denunciation was received at one of the Jelam police stations.
Various Islamist groups threatened him with violence and demanded that the authorities immediately arrest the activist [4] [5] [6] . Due to constant threats and persecution by the authorities, Naz was forced to flee the city and sought political asylum in the countries of Southeast Asia [7] .
