Commissar court

The Commissar Court is a temporary court in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania for the consideration of mainly land claims of private landowners, monasteries and cities against holders of royal estates.

Judges were the commissioners appointed by the Grand Duke of Lithuania, in the XVIII century - the backyard assessor court . The court case was examined on the spot with a call of the parties and witnesses, inspection of the boundaries of the estate. The commissar court determined the boundaries of land ownership and methylated them on the ground, about which an act was drawn up. Appeals against the verdicts of the commissar court have been provided in the usual manner since 1774 . - to the backyard assessor court.
