Biography
Barbro Ericksdotter was born in 1505 in a wealthy family. The daughter of the feudal lord Eric Bilke (? - 1511 ) and the noblewoman Gunilla Besse (1475–1553) [2] , sister of the knights Axel Bilke ( 1500 - 1559 ) and Toure Bilke (? - 1533 ( 1534 )) and the noblewoman Anna Ericksdotter ( 1490 - 1525 ) [3] . In 1524, Barbra was taken as a wife by the knight and law-governor Mons Johansson ( 1500-1555 ), they had six children. The family lived in the province of Ostergotland .
Barbro Eriksdotter was known as a cruel mistress, the bullying of the servants and their torment pleased her. Public outcry and dissatisfaction appeared when, according to legend , the landowner Ericksdotter ordered to put the covered table with drink and food in front of the locked prisoners, and they could not eat. To this, Ericksdotter replied:
They have food and drink, if they don’t eat, they can blame themselves.

Among the people, Barbro Ericksdotter was known as a witch with magical powers . She died in 1553 .
The Legend of the Ghost
After the death of the noblewoman, she was buried in Linkoping Cathedral . However, legend has it that the coffin with the body of Ericksdotter was transferred to the Wordes Church . According to one version, she was buried in the ground. According to another, the body of the deceased was pierced with something, and then thrown into Lake Tarmsyon near the estate estate [4] . According to this version, the ghost of Barbara Ericksdotter flies over the lake and shouts the words:
Barbro hanged herself, Barbro hanged herself, and a ghost revolted ...
