B. S. Lokanat ( tam. பி.எஸ்.லோகநாத் ; 1937 - December 9, 2011 ) - Indian cameraman. From 1973 to 1985, he was an operator in all the films of K. Balachander , with whom he collaborated in 55 films, both in Tamil and Telugu and Hindi [1] . For his work in the film Apoorva Raagangal (1975), in which the future star of Tamil cinema Rajnikant debuted , he was awarded the National Film Award [2] .

On the morning of December 9, 2011, Lokanat suffered a heart attack, after which he was taken to hospital, where he died at half past five in the evening. He left his wife Radha, two daughters and two sons [1] , one of whom, Sanjay Lokanat, also became a cameraman [3] .
