Biography
Since 1928 - the wife of the artist Nathan Altman.
In 1928 she was acquainted with Mayakovsky . The poet called her "Goat" [1] ; according to Degas, a poem dedicated to her with the mention of “goat's feet” should be preserved in the album left by Altman’s last wife [2] .
Just at that time, Altman wrote my portrait, which is now in the Tretyakov Gallery, and there was an easel standing and it was closed with a rag. He came, opened, looked for a long time, looked. “Well, well,” he says, “the artist writes, but the poet also writes.” So he beat me all the time from Altman.
Boris Frezinsky writes about her: “Irina Petrovna was charming, cheerful, easy, active, and, of course, it was the golden model for the artist” [3] .
In 1928, GOSET went on tour in Europe, and Altman, an artist of the theater, left for the troupe. The wife was waiting for a visa - then her new meeting with Mayakovsky took place in Germany [2] . She received a visa in 1929
When the theater was returning from a tour, the couple chose to stay in Paris.
Fresensky wrote her story about the Parisian life of those years: “The Altmans rented an apartment far from the center - on Boulevard Boulevard 21, in the area of the forts of Port de Vanve. It was a newly built eight-story house with all amenities (a rarity in then-Paris). Savichi lived under the Altmans — Ilya Ehrenburg’s friends, and, hearing Ilya Grigorievich’s voice, the Altmans rushed down, and Irina Petrovna famously slid down the railing. Soon the economic crisis struck, and the paintings stopped buying. At this difficult time, Irina Petrovna worked a lot to give Altman the opportunity to paint ” [3] . They had a son who died after a year and a half. Degas told how Ehrenburg supported them then: “He understood my suffering in this way, he came every day to distract him with something, although we kept a low profile in public. But Ehrenburg understood this ... "
At the end of 1935, the couple separated. After breaking up, Degas lived with the Shukhaevs. Altman still returns to his homeland, and Degas signs a contract with the American troupe [4] .
However, in the end, Degas still returned to the USSR. Mark Uralsky retells her words about the reason for returning: “what came back is she obviously explained with her levity. Like, rushed, stupid, for Altman, I thought the love boat would straighten , but no - it was about life . And friends of the heart persuaded - all these Kataevs, Kirsanovs, Koltsovs and others like them. When they appeared in Paris in the rank of Soviet travelers, they sang with nightingales: “Everything is even splendid, the freedom of creativity is as complete as in the twentieth year. What do you want with it, do it - even if you eat it with cabbage, but at the same time the earnings are consistently guaranteed ... "" [5]
During the Great Patriotic War, she taught in the evacuation of the choreographic school of the Bolshoi Theater . She also taught classical dance in the studio of the Moscow Operetta Theater , in the choreographic studio of the House of Pioneers of the Dzerzhinsky District of Moscow, staged dances for all performances of the Stratilatov Theater Studio [6] .

- ↑ “At seventy-five, she was not afraid to drive a car, although her vision was down to hell. And when he stopped her WOMB: they say, where are you going and why did such a strange manner, then in response to her about Mayakovsky she began to tell stories. - Did you know Vladimir Vladimirovich? No, hmm, weird. He was a very subtle soul man, despite the rough appearance, as you have, for example. But this is all external, contorted, and in the soul - a good big man. And he loved me very much, he called me a goat. I used to say something rude, harsh. Well, I strictly say to him: “Mayakovsky! You that allow yourself. " He always laughed a lot. ” The stunned militia usually released her on all four sides. The devil knows what the old woman is, you will run into trouble. So called "Grandma Mayakovsky." (Mark Ural.
