Biography
From a working class family, a native of the Tula province . Due to the early death of his father, he stopped his studies early (he graduated from a seven-year school only in 1920), worked as a mail sorter at the station , as an accountant in a food warehouse, and as a hospital orderly.
In the Red Army since November 1923 . He served in the First Separate Fighter Aviation Squadron in Leningrad : the owner of the aircraft [1] , from July 1924 - a junior minder, from November 1924 - a junior mechanic. In 1927 he graduated from retraining courses for junior mechanics at the Air Force Military Technical School. From January 1927, he was a junior mechanic; from October 1927, he was a senior aircraft technician in the aviation brigade of heavy bombers of the Leningrad Military District . Since 1928 he studied at the academy.
In 1932 he graduated from the N.E. Zhukovsky . Since January 1932 - an associate at this academy. Since June 1933 - Senior Inspector for Operations in the Air Force of the Leningrad Military District. Since January 1934 - the head of the sector, and since January 1935 - the deputy head of the department in the Office of Logistics of the Air Force of the Red Army . From January 1936, he was the senior military representative at the aircraft factory No. 18 ( Voronezh ), and from May 1937, the military representative at the aircraft factory No. 34 ( Moscow ). Since May 1937 - Head of the Department of Light and Special Aircraft at the Scientific Research Directorate of Maritime Aviation. From May 1939, he was the senior military representative of the 1st Arms and Supply Directorate of the Red Army Air Force, and from April 1940, he was an engineer on airplanes of the Red Army Air Force. Since May 1940 - leading engineer at the Research Institute of the Main Directorate of Aviation Supply of the Red Army. Since September 1940 - Member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the Air Force of the Red Army for aircraft.
Member of World War II since August 1941: chief engineer of the Southern Front . Since May 1942 - Head of Division, Head of Operations and Chief Engineer of the 4th Air Army . Member of the Voronezh-Voroshilovgrad defensive operation , the North Caucasus defensive operation , the North Caucasus offensive operation . Since February 1943 - Deputy Chief Engineer of the Red Army Air Force for repair.
Since May 1945 - Deputy Head of the Directorate in the Main Arms Directorate of the Air Force of the Red Army. Since September 1946 - Chief Engineer - Deputy Commander for the Engineering and Aviation Service of the 16th Air Army in the Group of Soviet Occupation Forces in Germany .
Since January 1947 - Head of the Leningrad Air Force Engineering Academy (since 1955 - the Leningrad Red Banner Air Force Engineering Academy, since 1963 - the A.F. Mozhaysky Leningrad Military Engineering Academy). He headed the academy for over 22 years. He made a great contribution to the restructuring of the educational process for the training of engineering personnel, first for jet aircraft , and for rocket and space units. He took an active part in the development of space rocket research and the organization of the educational process at the academy in space rocket specialties.
Since September 1969 - retired. However, for over 20 years he continued to work at the academy, being its professor.
Member of the CPSU since 1928.
He lived in Leningrad (from 1991 - St. Petersburg). He was buried in the Theological Cemetery .
On the building of the Military Space Academy in St. Petersburg, a memorial plaque in honor of P.V. Rodimova (10.16.2002).
