Vasily Nikolaevich Krylov ( January 2, 1947 - February 17, 2018 [2] [3] ) - Russian scientist. Doctor of Biological Sciences, Honored Professor of Nizhny Novgorod State University. N. I. Lobachevsky [4] , in 1991—2016, the head of his department of physiology and biochemistry of humans and animals. Chairman of the Russian Interdepartmental Coordinating Council for Apitherapy (since 1997), Vice President of the National Union of Apitherapists (since 2017) [3] . Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation (2007), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation. Winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Prize (2016).

Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Gorky State University. N. I. Lobachevsky (now Nizhny Novgorod University , UNN) in 1970, biologist, teacher of biology and chemistry. Pupil N. M. Artyomova . He taught since 1980 [5] . In 1991–2016, he was the head of the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry of Human and Animals of the NNSU, then professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology of the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine of the NNSU, and the head of the apitherapy program at the Faculty of Continuing Education and Professional Retraining of the NNSU [6] . “The scientist represents a large team that has been researching bee venom for several decades,” the Beekeeping magazine said in 2017. “Thanks to the work of V. N. Krylov and his school, the injection form of bee venom and water-soluble ointment with it, royal jelly and propolis for inhalation were introduced into practical medicine” [7] [3] . He was a member of the scientific council of the UNN [8] , chairman of his doctoral dissertation in physiology and biochemistry [9] , a member of the medical and biological councils for the defense of dissertations at the UNN and the Nizhny Novgorod Medical Academy , was a member of the ethics committee of the latter [10] , and was also a member of the ecological dissertation Institute of Biology and Biomedicine, NNSU [11] .
He was the chairman of the Interdepartmental Coordinating Council for Apitherapy since its formation in 1997 under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia (later the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation ) [12] [13] [14] [15] . Since 2014, the head of the Apifitotherapy Research and Education Center [16] , in 2017 founded and headed the Apitherapy Support and Development Union [7] , and also became one of the founders and vice-president of the National Union of Apitherapists [3] . He collaborated with the Scientific Research Institute of Beekeeping , the Nizhny Novgorod Society of Beekeepers and the Ryazan Society of Apotherapists [3] . Academician of the International Academy of Sciences for Apiphytherapy and Beekeeping [8] [17] [3] . He was a member of the editorial boards of the journals Beekeeping [18] and Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Volga region. Natural sciences " [19] ," Bulletin of the Nizhny Novgorod University. N. I. Lobachevsky " [13] .
It is noted that V. N. Krylov, along with N. M. Artyomov and B. N. Orlov, made a significant contribution to the development of the fundamental principles of apitherapy [20] .
Doctoral dissertation "Mechanisms of changes in some functions of the normal and altered heart under the influence of zootoxins" (1990). The dissertation is devoted to the study of the cardiotropic effect of bee venom (cardiopep peptide). He prepared 6 doctors and 32 candidates of biological sciences [13] . He developed the preparations Solapiven (injection solution of bee venom) and Ungapiven (ointment based on bee venom) [21] .
Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation (2007) [22] , Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation [5] [2] . Winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Prize (2016) in the nomination "Higher School" [23] [24] .
He has more than 280 scientific works, including 6 monographs and more than 20 copyright certificates and patents in the field of drug development [8] .
