Geography
The area is located in the western part of the county of Somerset along the coast of the Bristol Bay , bordered by the county of Devon .
History
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 as a result of the unification of the urban areas ( English Urban district ) Minehead and Watchet and the rural areas ( English Rural District ) Dalverton and Williton .
Composition
The district includes 3 cities:

- Minehead
- Watchet
and 39 communities ( English civil parish ).
