History
In October 1941, in the city of Kazan in the territory of the aircraft plant named after S. P. Gorbunov from among the specialists of the Moscow Design Institute of the Aviation Industry Giproaviaprom, Kazan designers and workers of the city’s aviation enterprises, a special design team was created - SPB-6. The purpose of the creation was to provide project documentation for the expansion and reconstruction of production facilities operating in Kazan and evacuated from Moscow, Leningrad and Voronezh.
At the end of the 40s, SPB-6 carried out the design for the construction of new and reconstruction of the existing aircraft plants in Kazan ( KAZ named after S.P. Gorbunov , Kazan Engine-Building Production Association , Kazan Helicopter Plant ), a little later Saratov Aviation Plant , many design bureaus and research institutes of the Soviet Union .
On October 18, 1952, by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, SPB-6 was transformed into the Kazan branch of Giproaviaprom of the USSR Ministry of Aviation Industry.
At the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, Kazan branch specialists took part in the implementation of the project of the 1-605A series house, developed in the second half of the 1950s by Moscow specialists (the so-called " Khrushchevs "). In general, the proportion of civilian infrastructure projects being designed has increased.
In 1991, by the decision of the general meeting of the collective, the Kazan branch of Giproniiaviaprom was transformed into the independent design and development institute of the aviation industry Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, and in 1993 it was transformed into the closed joint-stock company Kazan Giproniiaviaprom.
