Destiny 2

Like the previous part , Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter that includes elements from traditional MMORPGs. The aim of the game is to improve the game character by earning experience points . As soon as enough points are accumulated, the level of the character increases, which leads to the discovery of new abilities and improve the characteristics of the hero.

The traditional quest system is represented by “frontiers” - special tasks issued by non-player characters , in return for which you can get experience points or equipment. The implementation of the main milestones leads to the promotion of the plot of the game.

Destiny 2 introduces 3 character classes from the original game: titans, hunters, and warlocks. Each class has its own specific improvements, perks , abilities, as well as 3 subclasses that allow the player to adjust his character to the individual style of the game. After choosing a class, the player can choose the race of his character: a person who is awakened (descended from people, they differ in bluish skin color) or exo (humanoid machines). In total, you can create no more than 3 characters for each account ^{[21] [22]} .

Upon reaching the maximum level (after the release of the “ Rejected ” addition was raised to 50), the player can increase the “strength level” of the hero, obtaining powerful equipment. Equipment includes weapons and armor. Each such item has its own level of attack or defense. The arithmetic mean of the equipped items determines the overall level of strength of the hero. At the time of the Abundance season, the maximum level of strength is 750 ^[23] .

Activities in Destiny 2 are divided into PvE (player versus environment) and PvP (player versus player). In addition to story missions, PvE activities also include raids for 3 players and raids for 6 players. Players can navigate the open world of the game, completing various tasks or participating in open events. PvP activities include deathmatch , zone capture, and more.

September 27, 2016 thanks to Kotaku it became known about the development of the continuation of Destiny for the eighth generation consoles and personal computers running Windows ^[24] . In addition to Bungie , Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios also participate in the development of the game.

On March 27, 2017, Destiny 2 was announced on Twitter's @DestinyTheGame account ^[25] .

On March 30, 2017, the trailer for the game was published ^[26] . The release date of the game was also announced, the release will take place on September 8, 2017 on the current generation consoles and for the first time on the PC ^[27] . It was announced the full localization of the game in Russian.

May 18, 2017 it became known about the appearance of the PC-version of the game in the service Battle.net ^[28] . Both Vicarious Visions and Bungie themselves are responsible for developing the PC version of the game ^[29] .

On June 6, 2019, it became known about the transfer of the PC version of the game from Battle.net to Steam due to the termination of the contract with Activision Blizzard . It is also planned to transfer personal data from one platform to another on October 1, 2019 ^[30] .

First year

The first addition, Curse of Osiris, was released on December 5, 2017. The add-on is focused on Osiris - a character from the first part. Added a new patrol zone - Mercury. The maximum level of the character has been raised to 25, the maximum level of Strength is up to 330. Instead of a new raid, a “raid den” appeared in the game, consisting of new zones for the old Leviathan raid and the new final boss ^[31] .

The second addition, Military Mind, was released on May 8, 2018. In addition, there are 2 new characters: Ana Bray and artificial intelligence “Rasputin”. The player gets access to the open event "Escalation Protocol", held on Mars . The maximum level of the character is raised to 30, the maximum level of Strength is up to 380. “Military Mind” adds a new raid den on the Leviathan to the game, as well as the PvP ranking system: “Valor Points” for regular matches and “Honor Points” for competitive matches ^{[15] [32]} .

Second year

The third addition, Rejected, was released on September 4, 2018. The addition includes two new locations and a new hybrid activity - Gambit. The following month, a special event, the Festival of the Lost, was launched ^[33] .

On December 4, 2018, the Black Arsenal expansion was released ^[34] . The addition includes a new activity - the Forge. A little later, the New Year's event "Dawn" was held ^[35] .

On March 4, 2019, the Crazy Wastes supplement was released, dedicated to Gambit and its creator, the Wanderer. For the first time, a player is allowed to choose which side to take: “Vanguard” or Wanderer. The activities of “Court” and “Gambit Prime” were also added ^[36] . At the end of March, the Spring Carnival event was held.

On June 4, 2019, the supplement “Abundance” was released ^[37] . It is dedicated to Emperor Calus and his ship Leviathan. Together with the addition to the game, a new activity “Panopticon” was introduced.

Third Year

The third year of Destiny 2 will start on October 1, 2019 along with the addition “Resident of Shadows” ^[17] .

In general, critics were satisfied with the first hours of the passage. Many note that the series has taken a significant step. ^[62]
