The name arose in the 1930s [1] . Probably, it appeared in a row of neighboring abstract names ( Lesnaya street , Dachnaya street , Cooperative street , May Day street ).
The site south of University Avenue in the early 1980s became part of the Faculty of Chemistry of Leningrad State University (now St. Petersburg State University) [1] . Subsequently, along the eastern border of the faculty territory, a new street was laid, which was included in the structure of Solnechnaya. According to the planning project, the current routes will be preserved, and therefore, on University Avenue Solnechnaya Street will have a 50-meter shift [2] .
