At first, from the beginning of the 20th century, it was called Trinity Street , since it goes to Trinity Mountain . Now in Peterhof there is another Troitskaya street .

In the 1920s, the street was renamed Lesnaya, along with other examples of the simultaneous replacement of pre-revolutionary street names in this part of Peterhof with abstract ones (see also Dachnaya street , Cooperative street , May Day street ).

In the early 1980s, the site near Botanicheskaya Street became part of the Institute of Molecular Biology (Botanicheskaya Street, 17) [1] .

Currently, Lesnaya Street consists of two fragments separated from each other by the territory of the former Institute of Molecular Biology (now it is the Scientific Research Institute of Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology, St. Petersburg State University ). The draft plan assumes that the gap will widen for the construction of the “social security facility”. But Lesnaya Street is planned to be connected by a lane with Dachnaya Street [2] .
