History
The village of Bolshie Veski in ancient times was part of the palace volost with a center in the Alexander settlement , the village of which was called. In patriarchal salary books under 1628 it is written: "The Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Veskakh, give two altyns two money." In 1782, the wooden church burned down, and His Grace Theophylact, Bishop of Pereslavl , allowed parishioners to "transport and build a wooden Ilyinsky church in the village of Pereslavl in this village with the addition of new logs."
1819 began with the construction of the now existing stone church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with funds bequeathed by the merchant merchant Praskovya Ivanova. In 1821, the refectory church was completed and consecrated in 1822, the main throne was consecrated in 1830. Then a stone bell tower was erected. There were two thrones in the temple: in the cold part of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the meal there was a warm chapel of the Holy unrefined Cosmas and Damian. In the temple there was a locally revered manifest and miraculous icon of the Sign of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the upcoming great martyr Theodore Stratilates and the Rev. John Climacus. The inscription on the icon: “On April 204 (1694), the first day of the day was built by the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the elder Titus of the Lukyanova desert in the church of God in the village of Veski.” In Soviet times, the church was devastated, the bell tower and porticoes on the southern and northern facades of the temple were destroyed.
In the 19th and first quarter of the 20th century, the village was part of the Andrev-Godunov volost of Alexander district .
During the years of Soviet power until 1998, the village was part of the Godunov Village Council .
