Biography
Born October 13 ( 25 ), 1841 . He graduated from the Konstantinovsky military school . He entered service on June 16, 1859; a year later - lieutenant. He studied at the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy and the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff , from where he was released in the first category.
Since November 4, 1866 - captain of staff; from August 29, 1867 - captain; from April 16, 1872 - lieutenant colonel of the General Staff. On March 9, 1871, the head of the Orenburg military topographic department was. In 1873 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree; in 1875 he received the rank of colonel.
He participated in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. From April 1878 he directed the topographic work in Bulgaria , and from May 1881 - in Bessarabia .
Since May 16, 1883 he was the head of the shooting of the southwestern space of Russia; August 30, 1886 received the rank of Major General.
He was considered a connoisseur of geodesy and was one of the best manufacturers of military topographic works. For topographic work in Bulgaria, the Russian Geographical Society awarded him in 1881 a gold medal to them. F.P. Litke .
He died in Warsaw on December 5 ( 17 ), 1892 .
