The body is elongated, somewhat compressed laterally, the height of the body is 29–34% of the standard length. In the dorsal fin there are 13-21 soft rays, and in the anal 12-23 soft rays [1] . A keel of 30–32 keeled scales passes along the bottom of the abdomen from the head to the anal fin. On the lower part of the first branchial arch there are 51–66 branchial stamens, the number of which increases with the growth of fish. The vertical stripes on the scales intersect in the center of the scales or continue continuously. There are many small holes in the back of the scales. The upper ends of the caudal fin lobes are dark. At the base of the dorsal fin there is a dark spot [2] . The maximum body length is 12.5 cm, usually no more than 10 cm.
It lives in the western part of the Pacific Ocean , in a limited area off the coast of Taiwan and Hong Kong [1] . Flocking sea fish, found at a depth of 0 to 50 m.
