Biography

Vladimir Babashov was born on November 18, 1951 in Penza. The first club in the player’s career was the Penza “Dieselist”, for which Babashov played in the second league of the USSR. In 1973 he moved to another club of the second league - Kiev "Falcon". From 1973 to 1978 he played for the club in the first league, from 1978 to 1980 - in the major league of the USSR ice hockey championship. He spent the 1980/81 season for Izhevsk Izhstal, after which he transferred to the club of the second league Buran. In 1983, he completed his career as a player.

In total, he spent 163 matches in the USSR championship, scored 52 goals and gave 31 assists.

In the 1987/88 season, he returned to the ice, played 2 matches for Dieselist in the second league of the USSR.

He plays for the veteran hockey team Legends of Hockey in exhibition competitions.
