Biography

Daughter of the count in Zurichgau .

Around 904, she married Burchard II , the margrave of Rezia (since 911 ), who in 917 became Duke of Swabiah, son of Burchard I of the Burchardinga dynasty, and Lietgarda of Saxony , daughter of the Duke of Bavaria Ludolf .

At the end of 911, Burchard I of Schwab, together with the dukes of Bavaria and Saxony, rebelled against Conrad I, the King of Germany, and became independent. Soon he was accused of usurping royal authority, found guilty of high treason and was executed on November 23, 911. His sons, among whom was Burchard II and his wife, Regelinda, fled to relatives in Italy , and their possessions were confiscated.

Burchard with the family returned to Swabia in 914 and was killed in 926.

Regelinda together with her husband founded the monastery of St. Margaret in Waldkirch .

In the marriage of Regelinda with the Duke Burchard II were born:

After the death of Burkhard II, Regelinda, in the same year of 926, married his successor - Duke of Swabia Hermann I , son of Duke of Lorraine Gebhard from the Conradina dynasty.

Ida of Shvabskaya was born in marriage with him (c. 930/932 - May 17, 986); Husband: since 947 - Ludolph (930 - 6 September, 957), Duke of Swabia in 950-954.

After the death of her second husband in 949, Regelinda went to the female Benedictine monastery, Fraumunster , which was located near Zurich on the island of Ufenau on Lake Zurich , and became its prioress.

Before his death in 958, he fell ill with leprosy and retired to live in solitude on the island with her son Adalrich. Buried in the chapel of the monastery of Reichenau .
