Story
The action takes place in Japan in the early 1950s . Retired Lieutenant General Okabe, his daughter Chikako and son Kenji live on handouts. Okabe still adheres to the old militaristic views. The war criminal, adjutant Okabe, Terai, is returning from prison. With his support, Okabe becomes the head of the society for the rearming of Japan. Chikako is concerned about the actions of his father, who completely went into this movement and became a real tyrant in the family. To raise money for society, the general lays a plot of forest in his homeland. Kenji enters into a relationship with a woman of easy virtue and gives her the order of his father. Terai is involved in smuggling . This exposure deals a heavy blow to the rearmament movement. All hopes of Okabe collapsed. Chikako left home for her lover. Okabe had nothing left. And when Kenji laughs at him, saying that the order is a relic of the past, the general kills his son with a pistol and commits suicide himself.
