History
CHAYGINO - village of Chayginsky society, the parish of Pelushsky pogost. Lake Chayginskoe.
Peasant households - 14. Buildings - 21, including residential - 15. Residents are engaged in cutting, hauling and rafting.
Number of residents according to parish information in 1879: 48 meters, 55; p. [2] .
At the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, the village was administratively related to the Borisovshchinsk volost of the 5th district of the 3rd camp of the Tikhvin district of the Novgorod province .

From 1917 to 1918, the village was part of the Borisovshchinskaya parish of the Tikhvin district of the Novgorod province.

Since 1928, as part of the Prokushevsky Village Council. In 1928, the village had a population of 128 [4] .
According to the 1933 village Chaygino it is the administrative center Prokushevskogo Vepsian national village council Yefimovsky area, which consisted of 12 settlements: villages Amosov Mountain, birch, Borezhnevo, Vaskovo, Evchezero, Eryomina Gore Makoevo, Okulov, Prokusheva, Tedrovo, Chuharskaya Lahti Chaygino , the total population of 810 people [5] .

According to the data of 1966 and 1973, the village of Chaygino was also part of the Sidorovsky Village Council. 31 km from the village was Borovskiy lumber point of the narrow-gauge railway Efimovskiy lestranshoz [6] [7] .

The village is located in the north-eastern part of the region to the west of the 41K-032 road ( Zagolodno - Sidorovo ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 15 km [11] .
The village is located on the eastern shore Chayginskogo lake .
