Sergio Manoel Barbosa Santos , better known as Sergio Manoel ( port. Biography

Sergio Manoel was born in the city of Shiki Shiki in the state of Bahia. At an adult level, he began playing in 2009 with the Nacional team from São Paulo. Until 2012, he played for small semi-professional teams - Atletico Arasatuba, Batatais and Rio Preto, after which he joined Mirasol, who played in Serie D Brazil .

In 2012, he moved to Coritiba and made his debut in Serie A, Brazil. Together with this team in 2013 Sergio Manoel became the champion of the state of Parana, but he failed to become a solid base player, and in 2014 he moved to Atlético Goianiense. Two seasons were not very successful for the player, and he started the year 2016 at Agua Santa, which has just reached Serie A of the Paulista League. The team did not have one point to avoid a return flight to Series A2. Before the start of the 2016 Brazilian championship, Sergio Manuel joined the Chapecoense, where he began to play regularly since June, having played 18 matches of Serie A, one game in the Brazilian Cup , as well as seven matches in the South American Cup . As a result, Chapecoense reached the first in the history of the club finals of the international tournament [2] .

On November 28, 2016, Sergio Manoel died in a plane crash in Colombia along with another 18 club players and the club’s coaching staff in full force, who flew to the first final match of the 2016 UAC with Atletico Nacional [2] .

Serginho was distinguished by his versatility and, in addition to actions in the supporting zone, he could successfully play on the flanks of midfield [2] . Sergio Manoel will be buried in a cemetery in the city of Gendira in the state of São Paulo [1] .
