Hospital Franceé ( Spanish Hospital Francés ) is a hospital located in the San Cristobal area of Buenos Aires , Argentina.
Typically, residents call it a French hospital, the hospital currently runs the PAMI program, which bears the name of Dr. Cesar Milstein . The hospital carries out part of the social work to provide assistance to pensioners in Buenos Aires .
History
In 1832, there was a French philanthropic society in the city, led by the Consul General of France, Jean-Baptiste Washington de Mendeville, which included many residents of the city. Thanks to this organization, which provided medical services to residents of the city, the Hospital France was opened, opened in 1845. In those years, other hospitals were also built in Buenos Aires specifically for immigrants. Located on La Rioja 951, in the San Cristobal area , the hospital provides neuropsychiatric, surgical, cardiovascular and other medical care. In 1922, for the first time in a hospital in a hospital maternity hospital in Argentina, the method of painless childbirth was applied.
A few years later brought to bankruptcy, the Hospital France was transferred to state ownership and provides medical care for pensioners, in accordance with the Law on expropriation. After that, the hospital stopped providing medical services for other categories of citizens; in 2008, the hospital began implementing the PAMI program, which bears the name of Dr. Cesar Milstein [1] .
