Career
Junior career
He has been involved in sports since early childhood, since the age of eight he has taken part in national skiing competitions. Represented the city of , then began to represent the club TSK Triglav Kranj.
In 2012, he participated in the World Junior Ski Championships in Erzurum , in the 5 and 10 km races he took places in the sixth ten, and became the 11th in the relay.
In biathlon, the first major international tournament for the athlete was the 2014 Junior World Championships in Presque Isle , in which the Slovenian took 34th place in the sprint and pursuit, became 54th in the individual race and eighth in the relay. The following season, he participated in the Junior World Championships in Raubichi and the European Championships in Otepää , but also performed without much success, the best result in personal appearances was 29th place.
In the 2015/16 season he participated in the races of the IBU Junior Cup, where the athlete’s best result was fifth in the sprint race in Obertilliach . In the same season, he took part in the Junior World Championships in Keila-Gradyšte , the best result was the 19th place in the sprint.
Adult Career
In the 2015/16 season, he made his debut at the IBU Cup level in the first stage in Idra , where he took 82nd place in the sprint. Twice during the season he scored points, taking 21st place in the sprint at the stage in Brezno-Osrbli and 23rd place in the sprint at the stage in Nove Mesto .
At the 2015/16 Slovenian Championship, he won silver medals in the mass start and bronze in the pursuit [1] [2] .
He made his World Cup debut in the 2016/17 season. At his first personal start - an individual race on November 30, 2016 in Ostersund , he took 39th place and scored first points in the World Cup offset [3] .
