Muesig ( French Mussig ) is a commune in the north-east of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Lower Rhine , district of Celeste-Ersten , canton of Celeste [2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Markolsheim (Celeste-Ersten district).

The commune is located at a distance of about 390 km east of Paris and 45 km southwest of Strasbourg [3] .

Economics
In 2010, out of 771 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 582 were economically active , 189 inactive (activity indicator 75.5%, in 1999 - 70.8%). Of 582 active able-bodied residents, 550 people worked (293 men and 257 women), 32 were unemployed (11 men and 21 women). Among 189 able-bodied inactive citizens, 68 were pupils or students , 79 - pensioners , and another 42 - were inactive for other reasons [10] [11] .
