Biography
He graduated from the Samara real school.
In 1928 he graduated from the historical and ethnological faculty of Moscow State University . He participated in archaeological excavations, led expeditions to study the antiquities of the southern Trans-Urals in the vicinity of Chelyabinsk and Kurgan, conducted excavations in the Miass and Yurgamysh districts of the Chelyabinsk region. Since 1937 he worked at the Chelyabinsk Museum of Local Lore.
Since 1940 he taught at the Ural State University, at the Chelyabinsk and Orenburg Pedagogical Institutes.
In the 1960s - head of the sector of archeology and ethnography of the Bashkir Institute of History, Language and Literature of the USSR Academy of Sciences .
Specialist in the study of cultures of the Bronze Age: Abashevskaya, Andronovo and others. In 1948, he proposed the first classification of monuments of Andronovo culture , highlighting three chronological stages: Fedorovsky, Alakulsky and Zamaraevsky.
