History
The first of the series " Moscow Seasons " festival "Journey to Christmas" appeared in 2013. According to the experience of this festival, it was decided to hold such events not only in winter, but also in other seasons. [one]
In 2013, 34 sites were selected for the festival “Journey to Christmas”, each of the sites represented a city or country; masters, cooks and artisans from different countries were also invited.
Since 2015, in parallel with the “Journey to Christmas”, the “Christmas Light” festival has been held, under which lighting artists install glowing installations in Moscow. [2] In 2015, the festival became the largest in Europe: 10 million people visited it. [3]
2016 year
From December 16 to January 15, the Journey to Christmas festival will be held in Moscow for the fourth time. 15 countries and representatives of 40 regions of Russia will take part in it. Carousels will be installed at six venues, a free skating rink will work on Revolution Square , 200 merchant chalets will be installed at festival venues, about three thousand workshops, entertainment and educational events will take place.
