Biography

Wilhelm Grabow was born on April 15, 1802 in the city of Prenzlau in the state of Brandenburg [2] .

At the first united diet in 1847, Grabov was one of the most prominent figures in the liberal party. In the belonged to the right center and from June 27, 1848 he was the president of the assembly, but already in October he was forced to resign due to revolutionary events [3] .

In 1849, he was a member and president of the , vigorously protested against the new election law and retired from the political arena [3] [4] .

In 1859, newly elected to the House of Representatives of Prussia, Wilhelm Grabow was one of the main opposition figures in the era of conflict and a staunch opponent of the Ministry of Otto von Bismarck [3] .

Very popular, he was several times almost unanimously elected to the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, but in August 1866, after reconciliation between the Ministry and the Chamber, he resigned from his post in the interests of inner peace and left the political field [3] .

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Grabow died on April 15, 1874 in his hometown.
