China ( Sichuan , Tibet , Yunnan ). Coniferous-rhododendral forests, thickets on the slopes at altitudes of 3200–4200 meters above sea level [3] .
Shrub height of 1-2-2 m; branches with a gray fluffy bloom.
Leaf of a stalk 10-15 mm, felt and short glandular hairy, sometimes almost naked; leathery leafy plates, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 6-12 × 2-4 cm; the base is rounded or somewhat heart-shaped.
Raceme inflorescence, 8-12-flowered.
Pedicels 1.5–3 cm thickly pubescent and covered with short hairs; calyx yellow-green; corolla bell-shaped, white or pink, 3.5-4.5 cm. Stamens 10, glandular hairy filaments in the lower half, unequal length.
Flowering in May-July, the seeds ripen in August-November [3] [2] .
