In 1949, she played in the film " Country Girl " and was nominated for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival . Colombia Dominguez knew several languages, and therefore she had great chances to act far beyond Mexico. In 1950, she went to Italy to play a leading role in the film Edera. In the same year, she starred in Mexico in the film "One Day in Life", which went unnoticed in the homeland and was a resounding success in the former Yugoslavia. In the 1960s, Columbus Dominguez began to lose world popularity, but then, with the transition to filming in telenovelas, it again strengthened world popularity. The real fame came to the actress in 1979, when she starred in the cult Mexican television series β€œThe Rich Cry ” as Maria, but soon, along with a number of actors, she made a scandal with producer Valentin Pimshtein , and he decided to fire the brawlers and change the actors. So Maricruz Nahera was invited to the role of Maria, who did not gain such popularity as her predecessor. She retired in 1987, but starred in the short film Ramona in 2014. Since 1987, after completing participation in the cinema, Dominguez has mastered new genres - dancing, playing the piano, fencing and horse riding.
