Biography
In 1950 he graduated from the Leningrad Mining Institute . Head of the party, senior geologist of the Ubagan Geological Party (1950-1954), chief engineer, head of the expedition to the exploration sites of the Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoye field (1954-1958). Field geologist on the expedition, chief engineer (1958-1963) and head of the department of geology of North Kazakhstan State University (1963-1971), his dean (1971-1982), deputy minister of geology of the Kazakh SSR (1982-1987).
In 1974 he defended his thesis on the theme “Development of an effective methodology for prospecting and exploration of buried bauxite deposits of the karst type (on the example of the Turgai trough)”.
Venkov is the author of more than 30 scientific publications. Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1984).
