2017 Youth Ice Hockey World Championship Second Division

The 2017 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship among the youth teams in the II Division is the IIHF IIHF ice hockey competition held in Tallinn ( Estonia ) from December 11-17, 2016 and from January 7-13, 2017 in Logrono ( Spain ). According to the results of the tournament in group A: the Lithuanian team that won first place got the right to play in group B of the first division of the World Cup in 2018 , and the Croatian team who took last place moved to group B. Following the results of the tournament in group B: the team of the Republic of Korea The first place went to Group A, and the Australian team, which took the last place, moved to the third division of the 2018 World Cup .

Participating Teams

12 national teams took part in the championship - eight from Europe , two from Asia and one from Oceania , North America . The Mexican team came from the third division , the Japanese team last season refused to participate in the tournament of the first division and was qualified in the second division, the rest - from the last tournament of the second division .

The IIHF has approved 8 head and 14 line judges to serve the matches of the second division of the World Ice Hockey Championship among youth teams in 2017.
