Komovsky, Vasily Dmitrievich

Vasily Dmitrievich Komovsky ( November 5 (17), 1803 , St. Petersburg - June 14 (26), 1851 ) - historian , writer, current state councilor , younger brother of Sergey Dmitrievich Komovsky - fellow practitioner A.S. Pushkin on the lyceum.

Born in St. Petersburg in the family of a college adviser , descended from the Polish noblemen Kosmovsky , who accepted Russian citizenship in 1665. He received his general education in Petrishula in 1811-1817 and in the Noble guesthouse at the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum (1818-1821; graduated from the Xth grade official with a gold medal).

Since 1821 he worked in the Department of Education; since 1822 - secretary of the censorship committee. In 1828 he was appointed ruler of affairs of the Main Censorship Directorate; March 16, 1833 appointed librarian of the Imperial Public Library ; November 22, 1836 - member of the Archaeographic Commission ; from March 13, 1838 he was the director of the office of the Minister of Education , with a break due to illness. In 1840, he became an official for special assignments under the Minister of Education, for the affairs of the Warsaw School District. Since June 19, 1841, he was the ruler of the affairs of a committee established under the chairmanship of Prince M.A. Dundukov-Korsakov for the new device of the Academy of Sciences. February 6, 1850 was appointed chairman of the Archaeographic Commission .
