Biography
Born in 1750 in the family of a priest.
After completion in 1768, the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy was sent to the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences and for seven years participated in the expedition of academician S. G. Gmelin to the south-eastern regions of Russia and the Caucasus. After the death of Gmelin led the expeditionary force. On his return in July 1775, he filed a request for dismissal from the Academy.
During the year, until June 1776, he taught history, geography and rhetoric in the Engineering gentry cadet corps .
He was sent to England to study agriculture; for eight years, he attended lectures by A. Jung . Then he was a professor of agriculture and other sciences and an assistant to the Moscow director of economics . In 1785, by the decree of Catherine II in the rank of titular adviser I. M. Komov was appointed assistant director of the Moscow Treasury .
He lived in Moscow on Malaya Krutitskaya Singing Street at the Yauza gates. He died in 1790 , according to other sources - in 1792 . He was buried in the cemetery of the Novospassky monastery.
